4) The time to short a momentum stock is after it breaks. CRM sure looked like it broke down in May-July of this year, but then it's come back. So non-standard it's almost freaky.

    I've been short a long time on CRM, but only in a small way, because there is a bull case -
    1) Like Amazon, they are investing in the future - revenues keep growing well (26% analysts' estimate for CRM next year - pretty good for a company this size). They must be doing something customers like. And they can cut sales expense at any time and show more profits. And Amazon's stock has had a terrific run over many years on this model of investing in the future and low current earnings.
    2) Benioff joined the board of Cisco this month. That says that Cisco (market cap $100B vs. CRM $20B) could buy them, and the short case never comes to fruition.
    3) Institutional ownership at 99% per Yahoo finance. This is extreme and probably a positive for the stock.
