The stock is rising because the company is growing its' customer base that will be generating income for the next 20 years. Shorts are usually short-sighted and look at the next quarter. If you only look at the next quarter, please do what the author states is the right thing to do and go ahead and short the stock. You'll probably lose money just like he has been for a while and why he's posting this FUD repeatedly.

The institutional investors bought 3x as much stock last Friday as they sold. The smart money is buying the stock. The insiders have sold a portion of their large holdings. Note: Elon Musk owns 25% of the company and hasn't sold any stock at all. Lydon Rives owns a tremendous amount of stock and sold very little. If you want to pay attention to insider sales, pay attention to the correct insiders.

Please do your research wisely as Prudent Research does not. He's short the stock and as you can see from the FUD article he posts nothing but the worst possible case for this company and leaves out the fact the company is growing 100% a year and just had its' strongest quarter ever for MW booked. MW booked is the future of SCTY. If the company was doing so poorly then why is it booking more new business than ever???

The truth is the company is putting as much money possible into growth to gain market share to remain the leader in the field. They are not focused on the next quarter, they are focused on the next 20 years and so should you.

As far as a secondary offering is concerned, the company has access to very cheap ABS financing, around 4%. There is no need to do a secondary offering when bonds are much cheaper and easy money for the long term.

The board members are being honest and that's great. However, being long SCTY puts these comments aside. My bet is on Musk. Shorts don't have much hope.

Shorts dont care what you think or buy. They only care about how many shares are bought on margin which is sitting ducks to shorts! If you believe in SCTY and you borrowed money to buy shares you dont have money to pay for in full . you are roasted duck! Just look around yourself and see if many guys are doing same with same stock you own. If so, just quack away!! if your stock is heavily shorted, it ususally mean that it is traded heavily on margin!

The short interest was 27% a year ago when I bought the stock at $35. Your post is meaningless. Sorry. People short this stock cause it has risen a lot and they don't understand how the company works.

73.3% of the stock is owned by insiders. They don't use margin. Your post just hit a brick wall.

  • SolarCity Projects Wider Losses And Less Revenue For Q3 [View article]
Utility companies is in "good behavior" mode for the time being meaning keeping electricity prices down in hopes if dissuading potential solar customers from signing up for rooftop installations. They are so content to hold breath and waiting until all the solar rooftop installers disappear or go belly up before they resume hiking electricity prices with blessings from the PUC. Utilites are supposed to be ordering large scale solar farms , lots of them by now. They know that solar energy is dropping like a rock in costs and they dont want to lose revenues to the ire of their respective shareholders or bondholders! While I can agree with any of you skeptics about the true costs of solar energy, I am very impressed at the close gap between traditional electricity generation and solar energy. Solar energy costs had come down 95-98% since the 1970's. which is an incredible phenemeon! Customers used to pay around $10K for each solar kilowatt installed on rooftop only ten years ago. Now it is around $3K or something. I am sure that many solar customers know that the costs is coming down yet they go ahead and have theirs installed .

  • SolarCity Earnings: Rapid Growth Belies Fundamental Problems [View article]
Johncor, how much will electricity from your utility cost you 20 years later? How much will it cost to replace the system at the end of its life cycle presumably 20 years. Remember all you will need to do is replace the solar panels without having to replace the mounting. You have to start today or you can wait later. Chances is that you will go solar sooner or later. Lets give those early adopters a little applause..Utilities have been horribly glacial with large scale solar projects as if they are dragging feet. Utilities seem to prefer to keep passing along higher costs from using hydrocarbons that are going up so to help fluff up their revenues over solar installments that keep dropping in costs.. Utility investors are not as enthusiastic as well.
